Have You Considered A Life Insurance Policy?

I remember years ago when my husband approached me on us having life insurance policies, honestly because I had watched so many movies I thought he wanted me dead, so he could cash out…

Now I know better and I encourage people to add this policy to their financial goals. Some Christians say it demonstrates a lack of faith. I argue that it demonstrates good stewardship to be sure your spouse, children and family members do not have to struggle with funeral costs, unpaid debts, or future financial needs if one were to die unexpectedly.

In a nutshell, Life insurance is an affordable way to protect your family’s financial security if you’re not there to take care of them.

Someone shared with me a couple of weeks ago that if it was not for the life insurance policy her dad took a week before he died unexpectedly; it would have been a messy financial situation for her mom and siblings.

There are different types of life insurance policies, research and see which is best suitable for you.

Thoughts on choosing the right life insurance policy…

  • How much money your family would need to cover funeral expenses if you were to die unexpectedly?
  • How much debt do you have; mortgage, car, credit card, school etc.?
  • How much will your children need to go to colleges?
  • How much would be needed to replace any income that you’re contributing to your family?
  • Consider the benefits of the different types of life insurance policies…

My main point is not to delay, thinking it is unimportant or that you don’t need it. Death is not optional for any of us.
